Tidbits
Like most sports teams, the Pirates employ college interns who want to learn the business.
Meet Alana Schuring.. she interned in media relations with the Pirates in 2005.
You can read about Alana's travels in her post entitled: "Lunch with the Pirates:) and more".
One of the more interesting passages was this one:
"[T]hey talked about how there has been a lot of changes throughout the company of people leaving, getting fired, etc. I think the best thing to do is keep my face in their minds.."
You'll have to read her blog to learn what the "And More" was. hehe

Remember the infamous Kyle Denney hazing incident when he was shot on the team bus wearing a cheerleader's uniform?
My only question is, how did Nady get away with only wearing flip-flops?

DJ, over at the Derek Bell Yacht Company, asked for feedback from the "The Great Acquisition Machine" as to who the Pirates will target this winter. You will be surprised by his answers.

Good Lord Cutch.
Can there possibly be a goofier photo of you out there in the Internet world?
Anybody notice anything strange about the photo?
Take a good look..
A really good look..
See it?
Hilariously, this photo came from D. A. Humber's blog and the photo had a lame caption that said:
"Braun, McCutchen and Pence. Can you tell who's who? I can't!"

Not to be out done by the Arabs, Israel started it's own professional baseball league. How do you say curve ball in Hebrew?

The Daisuke Matsuzaka drama is starting to heat up as Buster Olney reported the Red Sox may have submitted an off the wall bid in order to gain the right to negotiate with him.
Then Baseball Musings speculated that the only reason the Red Sox did this was to defend themselves against the Evil Empire. A Yankees beat reported named Peter Abraham with the Journal News, immediately shot back that he was skeptical of Olney's report.
That's a lot of conspiracy theories brewing on a pitcher many in the industry are questioning his ability to keep the ball in the park and even pitch every five days.
This drama can only get better.. stay tuned.

Did you see Pirateball's latest article where Littlefield proudly proclaimed:
"We have some younger guys in the mix in the outfield with McLouth and [Jody] Gerut, who is coming back off of an injury. We also have some moveable parts with guys like [Jose] Bautista and [Xavier] Nady, and we have to see how they fit," said Littlefield."
Man, if Littlefield doesn't know what utility position or AAA club they "fit" with then we have a lot more problems than we all think heading into 2007.
